How We Met

10.31.2013

Beverly, Massachusetts - Jon and Teagan met in college when Teagan was a sophomore and Jon was a senior. They both had Jeeps and instantly noticed each other driving around campus. After a few Jeep 👋’s (IYKYK) and walk bys in Callahan (the dining hall), they officially met at a Halloween party that Jon was hosting with his roommates. Jon was dressed up as “Brink” (roller blades & all) and Teagan was dressed up as “Waldo”. Daringly, Jon decided to go down the steep basement stairs in his roller blades, while also carrying a half-empty 30-rack of beer. One step and he was down. Falling to the bottom of the stairs - beers flying everywhere - landing at Teagan’s feet. She watched the whole thing unfold in slow motion and instantly gasped “Ohmygosh are you okay?!”. Jon popped up very quickly and seized the moment with “Hi, I’m Jon” - and the rest is history.

The Proposal

3.19.2021

Huntington Beach, California - Jon had a sunset beach bonfire planned for their last night in California but the weather did not go as planned. The fog was so thick that there was no sunset and you could not see the ocean 50 feet away. Jon kept asking Teagan if she wanted to take pictures in front of the sunset, to which she kept saying “What sunset?”, while being wrapped like a burrito in 4 blankets. Their dinner was brought down to the beach but the misty wind was soo strong that they decided to save it for the hotel room later that evening. Jon rolled with the punches realizing that Teagan wasn’t going to take the blankets off to eat, let alone take pictures, so he dropped to one knee right there. He pulled out the ring box and Teagan was instantly in tears. Needless to say, she said yes! They left the bonfire an hour early to go back to their room and celebrate with dinner in bed and FaceTime calls to family. A perfect end to a much needed vacation after a year in quarantine.
