We have quite the story! What can we say, we met at the one place in all the world where you'd totally expect to fall in love right? Las Vegas! We know what you're thinking, how did that happen? Was it at the slot machine? A loud and bumping vegas night club? A pool party? Actually, we met in the hallway of the Mirage. Who would have known that an ice machine would bring two people together? From that moment on, whether in the same city or not, we were inseparable. We feel pretty confident that our love can get through just about anything from long distance, to COVID-19 lockdowns and closed borders! Finally, in March of 2021, after almost 3 years of long distance we were together, in the same place at the same time. We currently live in Nashville, Tennessee. We do life with each other and our three fur children. We are thankful for this journey we have been on and the one we continue on each day.
We became engaged on October, 31, 2021 at Point Park. Point Park is a ten acre memorial park that overlooks the Lookout Mountain Battlefield and the city of Chattanooga. The views from within Point Park on top of Lookout Mountain are absolutely beautiful. We were accompanied by our two dogs (Cooper and Charles). The plan was put into motion when our secret photographer was asked to take a photo of us with the spectacular view in the background. It was then that I went to one knee and asked my best friend to marry me. The absolute best day of my life. Take a look at our photos and you'll see some from that wonderful morning. You may even notice a few with Charles giving quite the look to our photographer. We are so excited you are planning to join us on our special day. One that has been in the making for several years!
We are so excited to celebrate our love with the people who have supported us as individuals throughout the years and now as a united couple. Just like the backdrop of where John asked me to be his forever partner, the views of where we will say "I do" will not disappoint. The venue is located in Wakefield, Quebec. Wakefield is about 150km/93 miles from where Sommer grew up in Ontario, and about 35km/21 miles from the Capitol of Canada, Ottawa, Ontario. For our American guests, we are so excited for you to visit an area of Canada that we feel is our second home. We hope you will be able to explore the larger city of Ottawa, Ontario or the smaller village of Wakefield, Quebec (or anywhere in between) before our ceremony on the evening of Saturday July 29th, 2023. Please note, Uber does not operate in Wakefield. Shuttle transportation will be provided between Ottawa and Wakefield. Please consider booking accommodations in Ottawa and use the shuttle service provided. Alternatively, if you are not consuming alcohol, parking is provided onsite at the venue. Please do not drink and drive.
