We met in 2016 after our good friends Laura and Mike set us up! Sheila had a sorority formal and was originally bringing a friend who cancelled with short notice. She didn't want the ticket to go to waste, so Laura thought Jon would be a good option. We met the day of the dance, hit it off, and the rest is history!
We had a weekend trip planned to Montauk before Jon started his current job as an Engineer at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Sheila thought he needed a few days away to reward himself for such an awesome career move so she planned an itinerary for the weekend, and once it was set in stone, Jon used the itinerary to surprise her! He called up our friends Mike and Laura (see above - they're the ones who set us up!) because Mike grew up in Montauk and knew a good spot for a view of the lighthouse. Once we got there, Jon told Sheila that Mike and Laura knew of a hike to the lighthouse instead of parking in the parking lot and walking across the street. This wasn't on the itinerary, but Sheila threw on her hiking shoes and got ready for the walk over. About two minutes in, he got down on one knee and Sheila replied with the easiest yes ever! Jon arranged for a photographer to be there and the lighthouse was far enough away to be the perfect backdrop.
We are so excited to share this special day with all of you. We are going to get married at Sheila's parish, St. William the Abbot. Fun fact: she went to school across the street for 8 years, and Father Fasano, our officiant, is not only a family friend of the O'Sullivans but he was also one of the parish priests when Sheila was growing up in this parish. Following mass, both of us cannot wait to dance (and eat!) the night away with you at Villa Lombardi's.
