We met at a dive-bar downtown known as Scruffy Murphy's. Rachel was having drinks with her bestie, Hannah, who was dating the bartender at the time. Jon came in to let them know he wasn't going to be able to perform that night due to him having mono. The bartender then introduced us, and Jon's magical pickup line was "Hi I'm Jon and I have mono". After Rachel learned that he rapped, she challenged him to a rap battle once he felt better. This is where the famous name of Jono comes because Rachel's one line of rap was "Jono jono says he got the mono". He then performed a beautiful song that night where he just said Rachel... the whole song. After that we grabbed some pizza and were best friends ever since! Rachel may have been a little stubborn with "commitment issues" for about 1.5 years, but well worth the wait 😉
Upon his realization that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with this wonderful woman he'd shared the last 3 years with, Jon spent months terribly hiding his plan to propose, it went something like this: 1. He wrote Rachel a song 2. He collaborated with Rachels sister, Kayla, and Bestie, Hannah, to pick out the right ring 3. He recruited one of his best friends, Stephen, to get some photographs of the event On the day of the proposal, at North Table Mountain in Golden, Rachel had a pretty good idea what Jon was setting out to do, but she did not know that at the top oof the mountain awaited a bed of roses, a guitar, and friends / family sitting behind a small wall of rocks. Jon ran ahead slightly, strapped the guitar around his neck, and began singing his song. Meanwhile with a hidden camera locked in place, Doomslayer (The greatest dog in the entire world) decided to walk right in front of the hidden camera such that he is the star of the video recording that you can watch here: https://www.facebook.com/jornorthynhygyr/videos/721644313429076/?notif_id=1709501841132948¬if_t=video_processed&ref=notif
