Start your morning off here. Known for their sparkling wines, sample a tasting of 4 of these or try their light bodied red collection. Pair them perfectly with a cheese or charcuterie plate for the optimal experience! Try their fireside salon or outdoor terrace for beautiful hillside views of the vineyards.
If you're looking for a winery with amazing architecture and an interesting tasting room, this is one of the best places to visit in Napa Valley! Beware: this winery is a bit off the beaten path, but worth it for the scenery. However, it is near Domaine Carneros so worth making a trip if you are in the area.
Quite possibly the most relaxing winery we've ever been to. The Garden Terrace is extremely peaceful, under a giant pergola with calming fountains at either end. After you're done tasting, take a stroll through their expansive gardens on property or explore their educational vineyards that have pretty much every varietal grown in Napa. Oh, and the wines are great too.
Turnbull has some of the best wine we've ever tasted in Napa. If you enjoy red wine, this is the place to go. They offer a peaceful setting on their back terrace overlooking the vineyards and some old tractor equipment for charm. Ask for the Cabernet Franc as a special splash- you won't be disappointed.
Located on the Silverado Trail, this is one of the best wineries we've been to! If you are a red wine lover, this is great place to go. The tasting looks out upon a huge hill with a beautiful vineyard where they make many of the wines. We definitely recommend this one if you like fine wines.
THE BEST CABERNETS IN NAPA!!! This completely unassuming winery has hands down the best wine we've tasted in Napa Valley. You must go here if you're in the area- it will not disappoint. Their single vineyard wines will absolutely blow your mind.
If you're from the South like us, the back porch wine tasting experience will make you feel right at home. It's done on a genteel looking covered patio, complete with swinging egg chairs. Frank Family offers a very personal tasting experience, with the host sitting and talking with you about the history of the winery and the flavor profiles of the wines. This winery offers a great selection of both reds and whites, and Meera especially loved their Sparkling Rose!
One of Jonathan's personal favorite wineries! Although the Cabernet is his favorite, they are known for their Chardonnay. This winery has more of a "big box" feel, but the wines are excellent and the tour offers an in depth look into the winemaking process.
This is Francis Ford Coppola's first winery. It's on a beautiful, upscale estate hidden away and requires a code for access into the gate. There is a bistro downstairs where you can purchase wines by the glass or bottle, and you can do a tasting upstairs for some very flavorful reds and whites. Inside is a miniature museum for the Coppola legacy and contains a lot of interesting movie history.
This is the BEST restaurant we have been to in Napa Valley. Although it is first and foremost a steakhouse, the menu offers a wide variety of other dishes, and you can't go wrong with a single one. This place is so good, we tried to have them cater our rehearsal dinner (until we saw the price tag!). The cocktails are amazing and Press is home to the largest collection of Napa Valley wines in the world. You must try this place if you're in the mood for a nice dinner.
The Charter Oak specializes in using very minimal but extremely high quality ingredients. They believe that the food should speak for itself without a lot of manipulation, and it delivers. This is a great restaurant for vegetarians, but they have one of the best burgers Jonathan has ever had in his life (and trust me, Jonathan knows burgers). The patio outside is massive and gorgeous. This is the perfect place for an evening meal on a night with nice weather.
This place is a whole complex. It's our go-to for snacks and drinks before dinner in Napa, but the food is amazing and would be a great dinner place as well. It's one of the most reasonably priced restaurants on our list, and their personal label of wine is amazing. We highly recommend this place if you're looking for a really good dinner that won't kill your wallet.
Probably the best Italian food in the area. Torc is a high energy, but sophisticated restaurant that specializes in truffles. We try not to repeat restaurants because there is so much to offer here, but we have been to Torc every trip we've taken to Napa. Torc is located in downtown Napa and is a very short walk from the Andaz.
The ultimate Farm-To-Table restaurant! Brix is built on a massive vineyard, which affords a beautiful view. But the most impressive part about this restaurant is the gigantic garden they have in the back where they grow dozens of fresh herbs and vegetables. You can walk amongst the vegetation, and there are numerous tables placed strategically in their garden for you to enjoy. The food is some of the best we've had in Napa Valley! We strongly recommend you try this restaurant.
Tarla is a great Mediterranean restaurant located right next to the Andaz. We recommend coming here for lunch if you're looking for healthier, fresh food to compensate for all that wine you've been drinking.
The gold standard of cuisine in the area, and maybe the entire United States. We have never been lucky enough to get a reservation here, but if you can, be prepared to spend around $1000 a person for what is guaranteed the best meal you've ever had. There is so much literature on the internet about this restaurant, that even if you don't get a chance to go, you should read up on it and let your mouth water and your mind wonder what could have been. This restaurant has THREE Michelin stars.
