We met for the first time when we were both still in high school, nearly 9 years ago. Jonathan flew to Mississippi to spend the summer with our best friend, Raven. During this time, practice for archery club was going on. Raven brought her friend to come shoot with us and hang out afterwards. Our first real interaction with one another was after the club meeting was over. We all decided to get coffee and Jonathan and I fought over who would pay for the three of us.....He says he won. I'm pretty sure I did. After that summer, we went our separate ways. We would not meet again until 5 years later. Jonathan and I were both in college and covid was just starting to shut everything down. Our same friend, Raven, invited me to play D&D over the summer with some of her friends. I knew one of the names on the list and it was Jonathan. We began playing D&D together every week and branching out to video games for several months. After a while when most of the pandemic shut downs were over with, we met in person for the first time in almost 6 years.

The proposal was a very magical story. Our amazing Sister-in-law Taylor really made the whole day work. Taylor and Jonathan managed to trick me into thinking we were doing a fun beach photo shoot for her portfolio. They told me to get all dolled up and come out to the beach where we were to have our photoshoot. We did lots of fun poses and had lots of laughs even though Taylors camera had a few technical difficulties. Luckily my Brother-in-law James saved the day with the camera. Taylor told me she wanted some pictures of my hair and had me turn my back to her. When Jonathan was ready, she had me turned around and I was so shocked I nearly squealed. Jonathan had a beautiful speech that he said to me as he asked me to marry him. I of course said yes and was very excited. I was so excited that afterwards I ran leaving him on the beach to go show everyone the gorgeous ring and tell all of our family. Luckily he runs faster than me.
