Maid of Honor
Lillian and Jenny met in Kindergarten. Lillian gave one of her classmates a Sailor Moon sticker and then that girl gave the sticker to Jenny. Lillian found that sticker in Jenny’s lunchbox and she tried asking for it back. Lillian and Jenny both rode Bus 14 to school and they were one stop away from each other. Jenny lived up the street and would go to Lillian’s house. She used to eat bowls of rice with butter and over a decade later, Lillian would make Jenny spicy ramen. They both used to recite Halloweentown spells in 6th grade. Lillian and Jenny used to routinely go to Marshall’s and Sushiland. They’ve been best friends ever since. Maybe they will get pregnant at the same time. 😉
Best Man
Jonathan has known "EJ" since he was 8 years of age. They used to spend a lot of time sitting on the side of the sidewalk playing Pokemon. Jonathan has known this guy since he was about 8 years old. They have been friends for a little over 20 years. Crazy to think that they went from two kids playing Pokémon Blue and Red on the sidewalk in front of his house ( I will never forget that EJ watched me suffer trying to get into Saffron City), tennis teammates (my biggest rival and still can’t even win a set off of him), to now his best man. Time sure does fly.
Bridesmaid
Lillian met Isabelle through Jon. Isabelle is Jonathan’s little sister. Now, Isabelle is Lillian’s little sister. Isabelle teaches Lillian all the latest trends and what the hot new “bangers” are. If you’re wondering what a “banger” is, it’s got nothing to do with meat. They bond over teeny-bopper movies and have a strong sense of "Jung". It's okay if you don't know where that's from. They’ve been great sisters ever since.
Groomsman
Many people think that doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. But Dennis and Jonathan seem to share on that insanity. Playing Smash Bros. for hours on end never seems to get boring. Just one match always seems to interfere with the work they need to get done and turns into staying up till 5 in the morning. Never gets old.
Bridesmaid
Lillian met Chloé in her freshmen year at Mountlake Terrace High School. Chloé introduced golf to Lillian and took her to her first rock shows. They were inseparable in high school. Chloé was that friend who took Lillian out of her shelter and brought her out in the world. Chloé moved to Tucscon, AZ to attend University of Arizona. Then she moved up to Phoenix and is now currently living in Kansas City, KS. Lillian introduced dim sum to Chloé. Now, it’s a tradition to get it every time Chloé visits Seattle. They’ve stayed best friends ever since.
Groomsman
"Can I borrow your screwdriver?" Must have been the thing Lewis heard multiple times a day every day of the week while Jonathan and him worked together. Even though Jonathan could get up and walk the 100 feet to get his own screwdriver, he would always ask Lewis first if he could borrow his. The funny thing was even though Lewis would tell Jonathan to get up and get my own, Lewis would always let him borrow it anyway. Day in and day out. Thanks, Lewis.
Bridesmaid
Lillian met Haven in 3rd grade but they didn’t become great friends until 5th grade. Lillian lured Haven by bringing delicious tea to class. Both Lillian and Haven bonded by sharing their cultures with each other and realized how similar they were.
Groomsman
Se is a true K-pop hero that has gotten Jonathan out of a lot of jams. We don’t know many people who you could call up and say, "hey I need help" and no questions asked, Se would come to your rescue. During the big snow storm of 2014, Se helped Jonathan bail out his little sister’s car from a treacherous and icy hill. Without him, that would have been a long and arduous night. If you see him at the wedding, ask him about the video he has on the hill. It’s a good one.
Officiant
Lillian met Devin in her Sophomore year attending the University of Washington. He was in her Chinese class and thought she was weird at first because she wore zombie makeup to school. In her defense, it was Humans vs Zombie week, but she wasn’t even a part of the game. Things got serious when they both took Intensive Summer Chinese 243. They became family.
