Once upon a time, in the far-away magical land of Charleston, South Carolina, Lacy and Jonathan met in the buffet line (of course) at Irene's Friendsgiving party. Unbeknownst to Lacy, Irene had invited all of her single guy friends to the party and let them know that Lacy was single! Lacy had to leave the party early, but before she left, Jonathan said, "I will see you again, you intrigue me." While Lacy enjoyed meeting him, in her mind she said, "No...I wouldn't go out with a crazy New York actor and comedian, he definitely wouldn't have the same values." Little did Lacy know, Jonathan had other plans. Meanwhile, Lacy met another fellow and started dating him. Fast-forward to December 5th, Lacy was headlining at a jazz club in Charleston. She stepped out on stage and saw the guy she was dating in second row…and that crazy actor Jonathan sitting in the front row center with his friend Lee with a big grin on his face. Uh oh! Needless to say, Lacy did not come out after the show like usual to meet everyone, worried that the crazy actor might make her date uncomfortable (and he would have LOL). Jonathan waited until the club started sweeping the floor before heading to drinks with Lee, Zach and Irene who said, "You missed your chance Hollywood." Not to be deterred, @jonnydhollywood was soon following @lacymillerofficial on Instagram. Lacy received a sweet message and a dinner invitation from Jonathan to which she replied, "Thank you so much for thinking of me. I just started seeing someone and I only go out with one guy at a time. If he turns out to be an axe murderer, I'll let you know." Perplexed by her reply, Jonathan ascertained that she had left the door slightly ajar, and decided to put his proverbial foot in it saying, "Classy and fabulous ladies that love Jesus are rare these days, so I had to ask. I'll see you at another show sometime." "Wow, that is the sweetest reply I've ever gotten after rejecting a guy." Lacy thought and it stuck in her mind. Fast-forward a few more weeks and Lacy was out with "That Bland Boy" as her family had named the guy she was seeing. On the date, Bland found out that Lacy is a vegetarian and doesn't understand football, to which he replied, "Clearly we have nothing in common, here is some pie, and goodbye." Upon recounting the "Pie and Goodbye" story to her friend Giselle, she said, "You know, I think I had more in common with that actor guy..." Giselle encouraged her to reach back out to him. Back on Instagram, Jonathan received a surprising message from Lacy: "Is it too late to change my 'no' to a 'yes'? The axe murderer didn't work out." After busting a move at work in a victory dance, Jonathan replied: "Funny, I actually extended the deadline, so you're right on time. I will only go out with you if you still have all your fingers and toes." "Fingers, toes, and humor all intact." Lacy replied. To make a long story longer, Jonathan's first-date restaurant pick was 167 Raw to which Lacy replied with a link to the scene from Hitch where Will Smith swells up from a shellfish reaction and the message, "Looks like I can eat the guacamole and the key lime pie safely." As much as he wanted to see the scene play out, Jonathan pivoted to the Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan's Island. They talked for hours and the rest is history. Jonathan proposed to Lacy on Folly Beach and had lured her there under the pretense that baby turtles were hatching. She initially declined since she was wearing suede high heeled boots, but Jonathan really wanted to see the turtles so she said yes. There were no turtles. Jonathan had a beautiful beach picnic arranged and proposed with the Morris Island Light in the background. She said yes!
