The First Date

January 26, 2019

Jonathan asked Kristin to a breakfast date at Snooze A.M. Eatery. They connected through their love for God, Disney, music, and spending quality time with family & friends. He then surprised her with a belated birthday gift and jokingly suggested to walk through Target before taking her to the next location. Little did he know, that was her favorite store. While driving in the car, the band Lit started playing on the radio and they immediately started singing together. Jonathan then brought Kristin to Tastea afterwards to get some boba before heading to Bill Barber Park in Irvine. When they arrived, they took a stroll together while sharing their testimonies and how they came to know Jesus. It was evident that they were both comfortable in each other's presence right away. Kristin was truly honored at how vulnerable Jonathan was, opening up about all he has persevered through in the past. They found themselves laughing on a bench 6 hours later and Jonathan asked if he could hold her hand.

The Proposal

April 2, 2022

Jonathan and Kristin took the Amtrak to San Diego for a day trip. He had planned an itinerary for them to enjoy beginning with hopping on a trolley to the USS Midway. As they toured every level of the ship, they had an amazing time learning about what life was like then. Next, they walked to the Unconditional Surrender Stature to take some photos. They then went to the Hotel Del Coronado. Initially, Jonathan had wanted to walk down to the beach/pier facing the skyline, but it was too misty and was about a 2 mile walk there and back. So, they decided on doing Bible devotionals at Coronado and split a sandwich. Jonathan had seen an overlook facing the water at Coronado and told Kristin to take some cute photos there. At first they did, but then Jonathan switched it over to video record so he could propose and told Kristin it was a self-timer and was taking photos continuously. He had then told her about how much she meant to him and all the amazing stuff that had transpired between them. He got down on one knee and proposed. She was speechless at first and it was only after Jonathan turned off the camera, it hit her and she started to cry. They celebrated at Little Italy's Mimmo's and took a photo in front of the trolley. Kristin and Jonathan ended the night by calling their parents and friends on the way home via Amtrak. They are extremely grateful for God's faithfulness in their lives throughout the course of the relationship and are so excited to embark on this new adventure as husband and wife!
