How We Met

We can thank Amazon for more than 2 day shipping

When Kasi went back to work for Amazon in Fort Worth, in a new type of building, with all new players, she had to catch up quickly. While she was only on days the first week, all of the managers in the building kept talking about "Stotts" and how he knew what he was doing. On her last day of the week, she was sent to find him and figure out his labor tracking board. Upon meeting, and asking to see how he was tracking all labor moves, it was blatantly clear that he had zero interest in telling the story. Kasi pushed with a few questions for clarity and left. From that initial brush-off, Kasi was on a mission to make Stotts be her friend. Fast forward to Thanksgiving 2016, when low-and-behold Stotts got moved to nightshift for Peak. This meant that Kasi and Jon would be running the building as partners five nights a week, from Thanksgiving till Christmas. Through this time, they became friends. They found they had quite a bit in common and work was fun. Once Peak concluded and they were on opposing schedules again, the camaraderie and banter that was found was missed, and they made plans after the new year to meet for drinks. And then made plans again. And then, the rest is history.....

The Proposal

What about "Bob's?"

We have to back up to a week before the proposal to say that we had Jon's boys a week before, and we were all sitting at the dinner table playing the game of life and out of nowhere Jaxson asked "ummmmm, hey Kasi & Dad, when are y'all two going to get married?". Jon will forever say that even his kids were roasting him during this time. We had never celebrated Valentines day as a couple, and never felt the need. But, this year we decided the night before Valentines, we should go out for a good dinner. We had gotten a gift certificate from our realtor when we bought our home, and had never used it. So we decided to try out Bob's Steakhouse. The reviews were great. So we maybe had gotten into some heated discussion before dinner, and at this time, Jon knew it was the perfect time. During dinner, which was excellent by the way, we (Kasi) started talking about some pretty serious topics that were getting a little heavy, and Jon got up to use the restroom. When he returned to the table, Kasi started nervously fidgeting with the stack of rings she was wearing on her left ring finger. Jon noticed, and asked "Do you think you have enough rings on that finger?". And being the true smart-ass that she is, Kasi responded "No, Why? Do you have more?". To which Jon opened his hand and said "As a matter of fact, I do". And then he followed it up with, "I know you have always said you don't want to get engaged in front of a bunch of people, is this enough people for you?". The restaurant, was packed. This was followed by some really sweet personal things, and a "YES". And we will forever have to tell people, we got engaged at Bob's.
