Thank you for celebrating with us!

It was Halloween weekend our freshman year at the Mount. A high school friend of mine, introduced me to Jon and a few other friends of his who were going to a Halloween party off campus. Jon and I were both dating other people, but something gravitated us towards eachother. Maybe it was the zodiac when we discovered we had the same birthday. The timing then wasn't right, but we remained very close friends. By mid-junior year, we both broke off previous relationships and thought, let's give this a shot.

I heard so many great things about Longwood Gardens during Christmas time and convinced Jon we should go! He also extended the invite to my Mom, Dad, and friend Jacqi to come along. I was skeptical of this. I always enjoyed date nights with just him and I. The scenery was beautiful with several acres of greenery and lights. It was cold so we headed towards the indoor display. The back drop was perfect for a photo. There was a pond, waterfall, poinsettias everywhere. The photo took a little extra long so I looked over at Jon as he is taking a little black box out of his pocket and gradually getting down on one knee. I didn't show much emotion at all. I was so shocked. I nodded yes and gave him a hug because the crowd watching us made me so nervous. As I calmed my nerves, mom and dad came to hug us and were so happy. We had to continue to celebrate! Jon made reservations at a restaurant near by and had the table decorated with a beautiful arrangement of red roses and a balloon that said, I love you. It was the best night I could have asked for. I'm glad Jon extended that invite.
