Jonathan and Jackie met in 2014 at a Halloween barn dance at Cal Poly SLO. Jackie was in her third year of studying to be an aerospace engineer; Jonathan was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base about an hour away and friends with some of the students in charge of the dance. We kicked it off by talking about satellites and orbit TLEs like the space nerds we are. After that, we spent the next year or so line dancing, going out to see space related movies, and watching actual rocket launches! While on a trip to introduce Jackie to his family in Texas, Jonathan proposed on New Year's Eve on a hike. After graduation, Jackie moved to Los Angeles to work on the James Webb Space Telescope, and shortly after that Jonathan moved to Colorado Springs. We spent the next three years long distance, and weathered Jon's three deployments overseas. In 2019, Jackie moved out to Colorado too. We got Koya as a puppy in January 2020, to join Jonathan's husky Sasha. Jon spent most of the pandemic with them and buying a house. Jackie had to work throughout the pandemic but spent every weekend with them. By late 2021, it was Jackie's turn to start traveling for work. Since then, she's gone to England, and Australia, and spends a lot of time flying back and forth between LA and Denver. After nearly 10 years together, engaged for 8, we finally figured we just need to book a date. So here we are - can't wait to see you in September!
