Question

Do I need a visa to go to Kenya?

Answer

Yes, but it's super easy! Kenya no longer uses traditional visas. Instead, everyone needs to apply online for something called an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before traveling. Here is the digital portal: https://www.etakenya.go.ke/

Question

What do I need to apply for the eTA?

Answer

You’ll need: A passport (valid for at least 6 months), Flight details, Accommodation info, A passport photo, and Payment (card).

Question

Do I need a yellow fever vaccine (“yellow card”)?

Answer

This depends on where you’re traveling from. You WILL need it if you are coming from or transiting through a yellow fever risk country: Ethiopia and Congo (DRC). You likely do NOT need it if traveling directly from the U.S. or Europe.

Question

Do kids need the yellow fever vaccine?

Answer

Usually required for travelers over 1 year old coming from risk countries. Infants under 9 months are typically exempt.

Question

When should I apply for everything?

Answer

eTA: 1–2 weeks before travel (minimum 3 days). Yellow fever vaccine: At least 10 days before travel
