Our story began in the modern age of romance—a swipe, a match, and a message later, we found ourselves connected on the dating app Hinge. In typical Lexi fashion she chose to forgo the small talk and quickly agreed to an in-person meeting. Both being proud parents to our equally adorable French bulldogs, we decided to include our four-legged friends on our first date. We agreed to walk along the trails of northside park - a casual outing that quickly sparked our effortless connection. The evening continued with drinks and dinner that would become the backdrop for many of our future dates. Yet, as with many great stories, our beginning wasn’t without its twists. At one point, during the early days of our romance, Lexi felt uncertain and even considered breaking things off. But destiny had other plans! One memorable evening, over delicate bites of sushi, I (Jonathan) poured my heart out—explaining how much our time together meant, and wasn’t sure if I could really be just friends. In that heartfelt conversation (and the walk home), something shifted. With renewed hope and understanding, Lexi decided to give love a chance, a decision that set the course for an unforgettable summer. Amidst the gentle ocean breezes and golden sunsets summer 2022 was nothing short of magical! We filled our days with long walks to the pristine beaches of Ocean City, spontaneous happy hours, and quiet moments of reflection that deepened our bond. Inspired by the magic of our relationship, Lexi took a leap of faith and sold her condo in D.C. to move into her vacation house full time—a decision that signified not just a change in address, but a commitment to a shared future. Our journey didn’t stop there. In Summer 2023, once I (Jonathan) was able to secure my passport, we embarked on an incredible European adventure—wandering through Portugal, Spain, Amsterdam, and London. The epic trip solidified that we were meant to explore life together. Eventually, our travels led us to Wilmington, North Carolina—a town that welcomed us with open arms. It is here, among the historic charm and vibrant spirit of Wilmington, that we decided to settle down. Now, as we prepare to say “I do”, we reflect on our journey that began with a swipe and a match, blossomed during dog walks and sushi dates, and spanned from a coastal town through the enchanting streets of Europe and back.
