Plan on renting a car in Italy from outside the EU?

If you're flying from outside the EU and need to rent a vehicle, you must have an International Driver's Permit (IDP) along with your driver's license. Obtaining an IDP is simple: Visit your local AAA office. Walk-in appointments are typically available. The process is quick and comes with a small fee (usually around $20). We recommend getting this sorted before your trip to ensure smooth travels once you arrive in Italy.
