Jonathan and I met back in 2020, before we actually “knew” each other. Yes, I know you’re wondering, what do you mean ? I actually met him at his apartment with one of my friends. I sat on his couch and talked to the other girls that were there. I had no memory of this until years later. Fast forward to 2023, I remember always seeing him at the gym but never paying him any mind because he wasn’t “my type”. Jonathan- I on the other hand, was at the gym one day, Ciana and I were working out on machines next to each other and internally I spoke a prayer to God saying “If you bring a beautiful christian women like her into my life I’ll leave the world behind for good.” Like casual talk with God and left the topic there. Then one Wednesday I,(Ciana) was rushing to midweek (Bible study) and remember a car in front of me was driving so slow, I cut them off getting off the church exit and sped to the parking lot. As I was getting out of my car, I saw the same car I just cut off pull into the church parking lot. I thought to myself “Omgsh this person goes to my church 😂”. They got out the car and when I looked up, I saw Jonathan. He looked at me and said “oh so you’re the one that cut me off” We laughed and I talked about how I hadn’t seen him at church before. After about 2 months of messaging back and forth we finally went on our first date and we have been together ever since. Jon & I left behind our old lives to pursue Christ together. It’s been beautiful, refining, and not without challenge. During our time together we realized through other friends and family friends, we had crossed each other’s paths multiple times without realizing it. We believe that God had blinded us in those times because we were not yet ready for each other. We were at the same place, at the same time and never realizing we were only a couple feet from each other.
