It all started in sunny San Diego California! I was a little over a year into my orders at my first duty station, enjoying life, making new friends and meting new people. Working in the pediatrics department, my days were mostly taken up by the stress of military life. I ventured out of my comfort zone to meet people outside of my day to day life, and it lead me to him! He was new in town, just getting started in his job training on a different base not to far from mine. He didn't have much free time to get out and explore, but loved what he was doing and all the challenges it brought his way. Little did he know that the people who were in his circle and every day life, were starting to come into mine. A little after the fourth of July, he was lead to her! It was love at first sight! Since day one we have been inspererable. Exploring all over San Diego, LA and beyond. Those first 9 months were perfect, then his graduation day came! With graduation came a new chapter in our story together, distance. We set out on a road trip to his home town, enjoying every silly song on the radio to all the amazing sites we got to see. Since then we have faced many challenges that come with being in a long distance relationship... but not even 1,000 miles can tear us apart <3
The Groom: Small town boy from Farmington, Arkansas, your typical football playing, outgoing kid. He was just as amazing on the field as he was off. Everyone in town knew and love him, he went to church every week and could make anyones miserable day better by getting a smile on their face! He took his first big step out into the world when he left for college, when things didn't go as planned he didn't let it get him down, he kept his head up and decided to join the Navy. Leading him to her! The Bride: Small town girl from Licking County, Ohio. Loves softball, outdoors, and Netflix! Always had dreams of being a nurse in a big hospital, went to a technical school for her last few years of high school to find her passion. Held a few small jobs while in high school until she decided that the small town was getting a little to small for her and she wanted something more. Decided to leave home to follow her dream of working in the medical field in the Navy. Leading her to him!
After weeks of being separated the I flew down to Arkansas for a long awaited visit with him and family for a high school graduation. Upon arrival he was waiting for me at the terminal, the first hug and kiss is always the best! He told me to get ready to go on a hike once we got home, annoyed I said I didn't want to go because I had been up forever. Once we got home I agreed to go, and the entire family set out for our hike. Getting to the spot we see its going to be around 3 miles, not bad....or so we thought. We start off on the trail and get lost!! REALLY LOST!!! figuring out that we placed a downed tree in front of our path, we finally make it to the most beautiful overlook. For anyone that knows me, I like to take pictures so that's what I was doing when I hear my name being called over and over! I turn around to find the man of my dreams on one knee in front of me with the most beautiful ring! Shocked I start to cry and of course say YES!! Having the entire family with us and being in an amazing beautiful place, is more than I could have asked for!
