It was the summer of 2018 when Becca, a fresh college graduate, was out on the town with her group of friends, and Jonathan, a new resident of the Pittsburgh area, met at the infamous Bamboo Bar. Their paths crossed several times that night, each time taking more notice in each other, when finally they were next to each other at the bar. Small talk and compliments led to a phone number exchange, which then led to some casual dates all summer long. August rolled around and J and Bec were out for some drinks for yet again another casual date, but there was something different about this encounter. The date started off normal, and when the waitress came and told them the place was closing, they suddenly realized they had been sitting there for hours, talking, laughing and truly connecting. Becca left the date thinking "wow, I actually don't want this night to end. I must really like this guy." Jonathan left the date thinking "there is something really special about this one, I am not letting go of her." Both left thinking, these casual dates were no longer casual. Fast forward a month later when Becca invited Jonathan to a PSU game and tailgate with her family. Talk about first impressions....Jonathan met Becca's parents and sister (for the first time) in their RV which was parked at the State College Walmart parking lot. He took this experience like a champ. Game day came around and spirits were high, Becca and Jonathan snuck into the student section to be with Becca's sister and pretend like they were back in college. All of a sudden, PSU scores and the moment felt right for Jonathan to officially ask Becca to be his GF. Becca said yes! The couple continued to grow as they spent some time in Pittsburgh, Jonathan starting a new job, Becca attending nursing school, and experiencing more adventures. The two moved into their first apartment together in 2020 in Lawrenceville, and despite Becca constantly picking up Jonathan's clothes off the floor, things went well. A couple years later, the two then decided to sell everything they owned, pack up the 4runner and travel. Becca became a travel nurse and Jonathan took a remote job. They started their journey by buying a puppy (the best boy, Oakley), because isn't that what everyone does when they decide to travel the country? First stop was South Carolina, next was back to PA for the Holidays in Blue Ridge Summit, then a long road trip to Salt Lake City Utah, where the couple got to experience a record year of over 800 inches of snow! After that the couple decided to buy their first house, sight unseen, travel back across the country to Georgia where they started their home renovation era. If you ask Becca if this is something she thought she would ever do, she would say "Absolutely Not!". The couple completed their travels with one final contract back in South Carolina and decided to retire the U-haul truck they had been living in and lay some roots down in Brunswick, GA. The couple bought their second house in May of 2024, and Becca somehow found herself back in the home renovation era...she at least saw the house in person this time before buying. So after almost 7 years, 7 moves, 2 houses, 1 dog....Jonathan finally popped the question to Becca right before her 28th birthday! It was an easy yes for Becca and she's too far in it at this point to say no. The couple is so excited for this next chapter of marriage and for the celebrations to come. Their foundation of love and teamwork have gotten them to where they are now and will continue to flourish as they grow in marriage and success. They are looking forward to celebrating with their favorite people in May and hope everyone is ready for one hell of a night!
