I proposed to Angee on July 27th, 2024. It was a big day for us, obviously, but truthfully, I chose it just because it felt right — there wasn’t any special meaning behind the date, at least not that I knew of. A little while after she said yes, we were talking with her sisters, Yolonda and Maria, when they reminded Angee of something she had completely forgotten. Exactly five years earlier, on July 27th, 2019, Angee had caught the bouquet at her cousin Erica’s wedding. At that point, we hadn’t even met yet. And I don’t think anyone, including Angee, thought she’d actually be the next one to get married. It wasn’t planned, it wasn’t intentional — but somehow, five years later to the day, that bouquet toss came full circle.
