During the summer of 2017, Jonathan's best friend, Chad, told him about a friend of a friend who happened to be Alyssa. Jonathan was smitten at first sight, and it became his mission to get to know this very pretty girl. That turned out not to go as planned as he thought it would. There were about three different attempts, on three separate occasions, where Jonathan tried reaching out through social media to no avail, only to be left on read each time. He gave up, and in that time, became closer to Chad's friend, who ultimately became the catalyst for the successful attempt that was made the following year, in May 2018. This time, when he reached out, she responded with much more enthusiasm and did not leave him on read, leading to a very strong connection and chemistry between the two.

It was the summer of Alyssa's freshman year of high school, and she was on a family vacation in Hawaii. Little did she know, Jonathan had been staying at the resort right next door just two days prior to Alyssa's arrival (she thinks of that as their invisible string). Jonathan and his family had flown home, but while Alyssa was in Hawaii, he messaged her, and she sadly left him on read. She does not remember things happening this way, but Jonathan insists they did, just ask him. He was crushed, obviously, and the two didn't cross paths until nearly a year later. A friend of Alyssa's was also friends with Jonathan, and she introduced the two. Yet again, Alyssa did not think much of it until a few months later. It was now May 6th, 2018, Jonathan's 17th birthday! He messaged Alyssa again because their mutual friend had mentioned that Alyssa was going through a difficult time. He swept in as her knight in shining armor, and they have been inseparable ever since! The couple officially started dating in June 2018, got engaged in July 2024, and now it's finally time to say, "I do"!
