Jonas and his twin brother Jean moved to the US when they were 12, and were instantly beloved by our entire class. They were charismatic, determined, and totally adorkable. While Jonas and I weren't very close in high school, we reconnected years later on social media while Jonas was serving in the US Navy from Japan and started a conversation that ended up lasting years. We started keeping up with each other's birthdays while continents apart, swapping stories about our family moments, hobbies we had in common, and adventures we wanted to take. Jonas invited me to visit him in Japan in the spring of 2016, and like a perfect gentleman showed me all over Tokyo and several surrounding cities, which was absolutely amazing. He introduced me to my first real bowl of Ramen and showed me how to order in a sushi go-around, and we practiced our photography in every shrine we could! He never did learn Japanse (haha), but we stayed in contact for the next couple of years until Jean invited me to welcome Jonas back to the States with a day of dance instruction at a local studio in Dallas. We ended up dancing the day away with friends and laughed over cocktails into the night. After that we were hooked, and wanted to plan the rest of our trips around the world together. With Jonas being in the Navy it was a whirlwind but whenever we could steal time together we made it happen, and he proposed shortly after we started dating. We were married in Austin on 5/11/19 by Judge Robert D. Jones with my sister Corinne witnessing, but we couldn’t imagine not sharing such a special day with the rest of our family and friends! Please join us this November to continue the party!
