Things To Do

Houston features a lot of great food and drink. Consider checking out some of these places during your stay in Houston. There simply is no way to list everything we would recommend, so definitely do not stick to just this list!

POST Market (Food Hall)

401 Franklin Street, Houston, TX 77002

Post Market is a fun food hall that converted the old industrial post office of Houston into a large space. There is a fun rooftop where you can hang out and have nice views of the city.

Bravery Chef Hall

409 Travis Street, Houston, TX 77002

A downtown food hall one block away from where we will be having Welcome Drinks. Has fun options and a great wine bar.

Captain Foxheart's Bad News Bar & Spirit Lodge

308 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002

One of our favorite cocktail bars in downtown Houston. Close to where we will have welcome drinks if you want to continue the party.

Notsuoh

314 Main Street, Houston, TX 77002

This place has such an incredible vibe. Highly recommend. It is close to where we will have welcome drinks so you can check it out afterwards!

Truth BBQ

110 South Heights Boulevard, Houston, TX 77007

One of the best BBQ places Houston has to offer. If you go in person to dine-in, the wait can be 30 min-1 hour. You can order for curbside online an pick-up to avoid some of the wait.

The Pit Room

1201 Richmond Avenue, Houston, TX 77006

One of our personal favorites that is closer to where we live. Famous for their breakfast tacos, but their BBQ plates are quite good as well. In Texas, you should go for the brisket. If not sold out, the beef rib is our recommendation. Usually has less of a line than other locations, but the earlier you go, the better a chance you have to avoid the lines.

Brothers Taco House

1604 Emancipation Avenue, Houston, TX 77003

Open only for breakfast-lunch (closes 1pm on Saturday). One of our favorite breakfast taco spots in the city.

Ema

5307 North Main Street, Houston, TX 77009

Highly recommended cafe and brunch spot. A great Tex-Mex menu with really fun baked goods.

The Original Ninfa's on Navigation

2704 Navigation Boulevard, Houston, TX 77003

For Tex-Mex of the fajita variety, we most often take visitors here to this historic establishment in Houston. Reservations are recommended.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

1001 Bissonnet Street, Houston, TX 77005

The MFAH features both unique architecture and a wide ranging collection. One of our favorite experiences is the Kusama installation Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity in The Nancy and Rich Kinder Building.

Rothko Chapel

3900 Yupon Street, Houston, TX 77006

This site was temporarily closed due to Hurricane Beryl but is reopened after repairs. This unique space was designed by Mark Rothko and houses 14 large scale paintings.

The Menil Collection

1533 Sul Ross Street, Houston, TX 77006

The Menil is a neat collection housing world from across the world. It has a unique modern and contemporary art including a special focus on surrealism. Entry is free and/or voluntary donation.
