Jon and Sloane both transferred to Point Loma Nazarene during COVID, with Sloane arriving a semester earlier. They first met at a “Coachella party” on March 20, 2021. Jon says it was love at first sight and told his friend that night he had just met the girl he’d marry. A few days later, he “ran into” Sloane while she was on a Zoom class outside in the Goodwin Courtyard. She thought it was fate, but really he had planned it with the help of a friend who lived nearby. From there, they spent most of their time together in groups, building a friendship first (but the chemistry was always there). Sloane’s mom remembers her calling to tell her about Jon and how strong he was carrying both of their surfboards down Sunset Cliffs. Four years later, with lots of memories and some long distance, their hearts have been inseparable ever since.
