We both went to Clarkson University but it took until having a class together junior year to actually meet, which is funny seeing as how it's a small college. From there it was group projects and homework sessions until one Friday night, Marianne bought Jon a shot from across the bar…. and the rest is history!

While celebrating July 4th a day early at our best friend's / neighbor's house, Jon kept insisting that Marianne look at their dog Meeka's collar. Marianne did not know what the big fuss was about seeing as how Meeka was acting like her normal energic self. When she walked over to take a look, their group of friends sitting at the outside patio table got VERY quiet as they saw what was about to happen, completely surprised themselves! Noticing the sudden change of mood during the party, Marianne spun around to find Jon down on one knee behind her and he proposed! She said yes!..... and then looked back down to actually find that the ring was attached to Meeka's collar!
