Jon and Kristen met how most couples do these days. Did their eyes lock onto each other across a crowded room and everyone around them seemed to be moving in slow motion? Were they out skiing and ran into each other and it was love at first sight? Nope, they met online. However, there was no swiping right for these two as they found each other on Hinge. Hinge you ask? It matches you based on mutual Facebook friends. Despite who that one mutual friend was, they both decided not to judge each other's taste in friends and give each other a chance (they’ve asked that friend to officiate the wedding). Their first date was one for the books. Jon picked a chic wine bar that had poor signage, cause if you're cool enough to drink their wine, you should already know where it is. Meaning Kristen had trouble finding it. After a glass of wine, the date was going well and Kristen agreed to extend the date and go play some games at Punch Bowl Social, which, after arriving, they found out was closed for a private event. No worries, Grand Central was close. To Jon's surprise, Kristen actually showed up at Grand Central! Maybe it was the conversation, maybe it was the beer, but Kristen and Jon closed down the bar (it closes at 10 pm on weeknights). Sparks flew, conversations were had and less than two weeks later on their third date, they declared themselves a couple over a dozen oysters at their favorite restaurant, EaT (the same place that's catering their wedding). Through trips to Mexico, Jon’s old stomping grounds, Philly, and numerous adventures and beer related races, their relationship blossomed and Jon knew he wanted to experience the adventure of life with Kristen. Jon proposed to Kristen on Tumalo Mt. with Mt. Bachelor (Kristen’s playground growing up) in the background. She was so excited that she lost a friend’s sunglasses in the snow and only discovered it when they had snowshoed part of the way down already. Guess who hiked back up, Jon did. That’s love!
