If you're into history, take a tour of Thomas Jefferson’s famed home; for inspiration, may we suggest listening to “Cabinet Battle #1” from the Original Hamilton Soundtrack
Founded and built by Thomas Jefferson, it’s generally acknowledged to be one of the most beautiful college campuses. Most hotels are next to campus, so I recommend fitting in a few minutes to walk around grounds! At the very least, see the rotunda and walk down the Lawn.
If the weather Friday is nice, this is where to find us! Charlottesville is in the middle of Virginia wine country. It’s not exactly Napa, but there’s plenty of good wine to be found with beautiful blue ridge vistas. Some of the more popular vineyards include King’s Family Vineyard, Veritas, Pippin Hill, Barboursville, and let’s not forget the Trump winery for anyone who’s curious. (It actually does have the largest selection of bubbles and one of the best views.)
If wine's not your thing, go taste beers instead! Starr Hill and Blue Mountain Brewery are favorites.
This personally sounds like my nightmare, but I guess other people are really into the outdoors. Google is probably a better guide on this one!
Walk, shop, eat and drink on the Corner or on the Downtown Mall (not really a mall, just a pedestrian outdoor collection of restaurants and shops). Food and drink suggestions can be found under "eat" and "drink"!
Charlottesville is regularly lauded for its ridiculously high ratio of restaurants to population, so come hungry! Some classics include: Quick eats: Bodos bagels are a must for breakfast, Take it Away or Bel Air for sandwiches, Marco & Luca dumplings Sit-down: The Virginian, C&O, Mas, Oakhart Social Late-night: the White Spot for a Gus Burger, Little John's for sandwiches, Christian's for pizza, College Inn for cheesy bread
Hang out on "the corner" for collegier bars or get a drink on the downtown mall if you're feeling classier. We recommend the Virginian, Boylan Heights, or the Biltmore patio if it's nice outside.
