Maid of Honor
We meet on STINT with CRU in-between my sophomore and junior year of college and were roommates for a year in Athens, Greece! So we went through A LOT together. If you ever hear the word "koukla" floating around, it's Greek for "doll." And girl, you are a doll. Can't imagine you not being here with me! Thank you for everything!
Bridesmaid
Fellow dispatcher of small planes, coffee connoisseur, tender hearted and a huge supporter of us! Trust me, she was listening to me talk about Jon LONG before we started dating. Thanks dear. <3
Bridesmaid
A close cousin, always a few steps...or four, ahead of me. So thankful for her spunk, listening ear about all things boy related, and her love of Christ and her family.
Bridesmaid
One of my FIRST friends upon my arrival in Alaska, extending the "right hand of friendship." An adventure buddy for the ages and of course now my soon to be sister in law!
Groomsman
Eric holds the favorable distinction of having killed the largest bull moose I've ever seen.. Oh yea, and he loves his family and works hard too. He's the director of the Tanalian Leadership Center here in Port Alsworth and lives a full life pouring into many relationships from the strength and hope he has in Jesus Christ. Also, he's killed a giant bull moose.
Groomsman
Jordan lives here in Port Alsworth with his wife and 2 little boys. He and I have spent a lot of time hunt guiding together for Alaskan big game. He's a tough and a very capable guide. He's a pilot, a hard worker and always up for fun/crazy adventures. Once, while guiding on the Alaska peninsula, he had 3 clients kill 3 GIANT brown bears in less than a week.
Best Man
I've known Matt my whole life. He's my older brother. He has a lovely wife, 4 flawless children and lives in Idaho. He's great with numbers, a hardworking bowhunter (killed some big bulls with his bow), cool under pressure and most importantly has provided me with a great friendship and example for many years.
Groomsman
Lyle overflows with love for others. Often, very boisterously. In 2007 he sold me some property next door to him and it's where I built my house. Some say it was the best decision he ever made. He and his wife Heidi own and operate a local air taxi called Lake and Pen Air, where Katie works. We have had many adventures together over the years.
Father of the Bride
One of dad and I insides jokes was a modified Buzz Lightyear quote from Toy Story. Dad always told me that, "he loved me to infinity and beyond!" Not only am I his only child, I am his daughter. He has always been there for me, wrestled me, supported me, taught me how to golf (his passion), and instilled in me a greater passion for the outdoors and most imporantly, Jesus. He is the director of Lifelines, the outdoor experiential teaching program of CRU. He has been faithfully and lovingly married to my mom for over 28 years. They both still live in Lawrence KS, but now live vicariously through me in rural Alaska. Thank you for such a rich spiritual foundation and example for marriage dad.
Mother of the Bride
My mom has been my best friend growing up. My friends always knew that if they told me any secret my mom would also know too! She has followed and served Christ faithfully since college. She met my dad on a summer mission to Vietnam with CRU. She joined staff with CRU right after college. She is a wonderful cook, loving wife and mother. Always ready with a ziplock, snack or a pithy saying. Love you mom!
Father of the Groom
I love my dad. He's taught me so much I can't quite even spell it all out. He's a wise and Godly man.
Mother of the Groom
My mom has loved us 3 kids with an unwavering and steadfast love every year of our lives. Most importantly, she has and still consistently prays for us. She is an example to many of Christ's love.
