FAQs

We’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions about our big day! We hope this helps make planning your trip and celebrating with us as easy as possible. If you still have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re happy to help!
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We want you to look nice, but we’re way more excited about you being there than what you wear! Think dressy, wear your best celebration outfit. Most importantly, come ready to have fun with us!

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We love your little ones, but this celebration will be adults-only except for children in our close family. We hope this gives parents a chance to relax and enjoy the evening!

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

We wish we could invite everyone, but seating is limited. Please check your invitation to see if a guest is included — if not, we can’t accommodate additional guests this time. We appreciate your understanding!

Question

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony will be held at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Downtown Des Moines, followed by the reception at the Des Moines Heritage Center. Both venues are within a short drive of each other.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony begins promptly at 2:00 p.m., and we recommend arriving 15–20 minutes early to find your seat. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m.

Question

Is there parking available?

Answer

Parking is available near both venues, including nearby ramps and street options around the cathedral. The Heritage Center also has its own parking lot for reception guests.

Question

I have dietary restrictions — who should I contact?

Answer

We want everyone to feel comfortable and enjoy their meal. Please include any dietary needs when you RSVP.
