We met while working in the same retail store! Straight out of college, Gabby was trying to quickly find a job and decided to apply momentarily at Ross. During her orientation is where she met Jon for the first time, who was already working there, as he had to show her the "shortage highway walk" and discuss what it entailed. Gabby followed directly behind him and didn't hear a word he said the whole time because he was talking too low! After a couple of weeks working there, Gabby noticed how friendly Jon was and decided she wanted to talk to him more. We bonded over the show The Walking Dead and discovered we had gone to the same university and hung out in the same lounge all the time, but never remembered seeing each other! One day we got into a discussion about food, and Jon found out Gabby had never tried cheese curds. Jon decided to take Gabby to Cheesie's, a grilled cheese restaurant in Lakeview. After that day, we hung out in group settings a couple of times. Then when Jon had an idea to go to the movies with coworkers, he ran the idea by Gabby. She excitedly said yes, thinking it would be just them two, until Jon mentioned more people. Gabby decided to suggest maybe it should be just the two of them, and although Jon seemed surprised, he agreed! After that, we started spending more time together, discovered more coincidences and things in common, and before we knew it, we grew feelings for each other and the rest is history!
