We've known each other most of our lives, but didn't start dating until 2016 (Jon's freshman year of college and my junior year of high school). Jon asked me out on a date and we clicked immediately. We continued dating as I finished high school and Jon started his Respiratory Therapy schooling. Our relationship faced struggles as I moved away to college and Jon spent most of his time in clinicals. We persevered through the difficulties and found ourselves more in love with each other as we continue to seek Christ. Jon accepted a Respiratory Therapist position at IU North Hospital in Carmel and I am finishing up my Elementary Education degree.

I was at home when Jon called me and told me to get dressed up because he was taking me out to a fancy dinner. I got all dressed up and headed over to Jon's house. When I walked through the door, I was greeted with "It's Been a Long Long Time" by Harry James playing and Jon asking me to dance. We danced to the song and when it was over Jon got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes of course! I was excited to find out that he had made the ring box for me, making it all the more special.
