Is your wedding really on a Thursday?

Answer

CORRECT! We are both teachers and have the summers off, so to be honest every day is basically a weekend for us. This obviously makes it easy for our other teacher friends to attend the wedding, but we understand that this will not be the case for everyone else. Jon and I are paying for the wedding ourselves and we wanted to keep costs down where we could. This meant booking our venue on an off day. Leavenworth is also incredibly busy on the weekends during the whole year and by having the wedding earlier in the week we will not run in to as many crowd issues.

Why did you choose Leavenworth?

Answer

We have always loved visiting Leavenworth during our whole relationship. There is a ton of a hiking, wine tasting, beer drinking, river floating and shopping to do. We thought it would be the perfect backdrop for our special day. Our reception is going to be held at the Festhalle which is right downtown next to Icicle Brewery. We have friends and family located all over Washington state and we hope that everyone would consider treating this wedding like a destination wedding. We want our guests to come out for a few days and use the wedding as an excuse to take a vacation with us in town. There are plenty of hotels and Air BNB's that are located in and around the Leavenworth area for every different need.

Is your wedding registry only online?

Answer

Correct! We chose to go through the website ZOLA which allowed us to take care of everything in one stop. Most people are accustomed to shopping online anyways so this should make things easy for many people. There are group gift options if you don't want to purchase an expensive gift and there are many experience options as well. Jon and I have lived with each other for four years now and we have a home filled with many things already. We would love for you to consider gifting us some money towards wedding expenses or experiences instead for our small honeymoon weekend that we are taking after the wedding. There are many options to choose from!
