Zilker Botanical Garden
A variety of scenic natural areas with trails that lead to an oriental garden, prehistoric plant garden, cacti and succulent garden, pioneer town, and more. Nearby Zilker park is also a great stop, not to mention the famous Barton Springs pool, Barton creek greenbelt hike and bike trails, and a plethora of bars/restaurants along Barton Springs Rd.
Mueller Lake Park
Lots of restaurants and activities to do in the Mueller area from catching a movie at Alamo Drafthouse or taking the kids to the Thinkery (children's museum) to hitting happy hour at Colleen's or walking around the beautiful lake walk.
Willie For President Mural (South Congress Avenue)
The mural is awesome, but really everything on South Congress (SoCo) is a must see. There's Hey Cupcake!, Lucy in Disguise with Diamonds, Home Slice Pizza, Güero's Taco Bar, Big Top Candy Shop and so much more! You HAVE to check it out!
The Domain
A huge hub for shopping, but if you're interested in a downtown feel without being downtown, you should go to Domain Northside and check out the nicer watering holes and various eateries.
