Jon and I met over St. Patrick's Day weekend in 2015. We were in O’Neill, NE enjoying the small town Irish celebration, he was with a group of friends and I was with some of my family. When I first saw Jon from across the room I knew I had to meet him. I made my way up to talk to him and his friends and we immediately hit it off! We spent the rest of the night talking, dancing and laughing. At the time I lived in Wahoo and he lived in Norfolk, so I wasn't sure how we could make any type of relationship work. As luck may have it, he had been assigned a project in Wahoo the week after we met. So we were able to get to know each other better while he was there. After that we found ways to see each other on the weekends or when he was working in the area. Fast forward four years and a baby later, we are ready to say 'I do'
Jon proposed to me on Christmas morning of 2017. He had wrapped a bunch of empty boxes and put them under the tree a few days before Christmas. That morning Jon and Dawson laughed at me as I unwrapped the empty boxes. I knew he was planning to propose soon, so I kept digging through the boxes looking for a small jewelry box. As I was busy with that, Jon came up behind me and reached around me to show me the ring he was holding. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes, of course, after I took a second to check with my future step daughter Dawson. (She said it was ok!) Two days later I gave birth to our beautiful baby boy Logan! We decided to concentrate on parenting a newborn baby and wait on the wedding planning. But now that we are getting the hang of parenting we have set our date. We look forward to seeing you in August!
