We met through a mutual friend while Jon was promoting for a Chicago nightclub, Zentra in 2006-ish. Everyone knows Jon is "Mr. I want everyone to have a good time" so he makes tons of friends along the way and I became one of them. We lost touch for a few years and then reconnected on Facebook in 2011. We ended up leaning on and confiding in each other while we were both dealing with similar situations . Before we knew it, we were fully dating, I moved in and we got a dog together. 1 famous dog and 6 others later, the rest is history!
Most of you know that I helped pick out my engagement ring because Jon just had to get it right! =) So he decided the proposal had to be a big surprise. And omg was it! He told me we were taking a vacation to Mexico just the two of us, which never happens because Manny takes us everywhere. The first night we checked in at an amazing over water bungalow resort and had the most beautiful private dinner with the table over a clear floor on top of the ocean! We get back to our room and our butler (yes, that's right we had a own butler!) made up the room with rose petals, an engagement dessert, and decorated the bed with words "Please Accept". As my mind is processing all of this, Jon went to grab the ring and I exclaimed "Are you proposing?!" He said yes, sits me down, and gets down one knee. He takes my hands and after a short and sweet speech, he puts the ring on my finger, I of course say YES and we hug and cry. It was everything I could have asked for. I thought that was it, but NO! The next day he tells me we are switching hotels and I think, ugh nothing can get better than this! We arrive to the other resort, also beautiful but come on it wasn't over water bungalows! So kind of bummed, we get to our room where I hear music and see there is rose petals everywhere with a congratulatory note on the bed, so I decide to shed the frown and explore the room. I go out to the balcony and there is MOST OF OUR FAMILIES screaming surprise and holding up congrats signs. After my eyes communicated to my brain that our parents and families were standing in front of me, I almost fainted and needed Jon to hold me up! After lots of happy tears, hugs and a tequila shot (Viva Mexico!) we had the most amazing 6 day vacation together and I'm forever grateful to Jon for that unforgettable trip.
