When you grow up in a small town, you may never take the time to have a conversation with people who cross your path again and again. It's easy to assume you know their story, or their personality, without ever having a real conversation with each other. This was the case for Abbie and Jon until one random Tuesday night at the climbing gym. They wouldn't know it until much later, but that night would soon change their lives forever. "Hey, stranger!" Jon said excitedly as Abbie walked in. She thought, "He seems more friendly than normal." As they chatted, and overshared, and chatted some more, Abbie knew she wanted to spend more time with this guy. It turned into her inviting herself on a climbing trip that she later couldn't attend, but it opened the door for Jon to take the hint, and he asked her for coffee a couple days later. They went on their first hiking trip a few days after that, and they've been pretty inseparable ever since. Their personalities, hobbies, and senses of humor compliment each other so well, that there's no way they would have guessed they would be this right for each other way back when they were only acquaintances. They often summarize their relationship by saying, "Didn't see it coming, but it makes sense."
