Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel
Located in the historic center of the city, this stunning church is a prime example of colonial architecture with its neo-Gothic façade and towering spires. The construction of the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel began in the 17th century and continued for several decades. Enjoy the many restaurants, cafes, shops, and mariachis surrounding the area!
Historical Walking Tours
This is the original Historical Walking Tour of San Miguel de Allende and the only one that benefits a non-profit that for nearly five decades has provided free dental, medical and psychological care to the children and teens of families without insurance or the means to provide that care themselves. No reservations are required. Just meet in El Jardin opposite the iconic Parroquia Church in the center of San Miguel at 9:30 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For a donation of 500 pesos, the professionally-guided English-language tours start at 10 a.m. and last about 2 1/2 hours, covering a mostly-flat 10-block area. This tour has been awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence. It’s a definite “must” for any visitor to San Miguel.
La Gruta Restaurante & Spa
Nestled in the foothills of the nearby mountains, La Gruta hot springs offer visitors a chance to relax during their visit. The mineral-rich waters are said to have healing properties.
