Our wedding is located near Lakeside, Montana, at the Cabins at Blacktail. Lakeside sits along Flathead Lake, and is about 20 minutes south of Kalispell. IF YOU ARE COMING FROM WASHINGTON/OREGON - please keep in mind there is a time change! Mountain time is an hour AHEAD of Pacific time. Be mindful of this if you're planning on arriving the day of the wedding!
If you are planning on driving from Spokane, Lakeside is about 3 hours and 40 minutes away. If you are coming from further away and plan on flying, Kalispel, MT has an airport you can fly into. Please plan accordingly for ground transportation - Montana has very limited options for Uber/Lyft, so please consider looking into taxi services, car rentals, or coordinating with other guests who will have cars.
Our dress code is semi-formal/cocktail attire, though we want all of our guests to wear what they're comfortable in. Please be mindful of the weather/temperature, as well as the terrain of our venue. We will be outside, in the forest, and on gravel - so maybe skip the stilettos! For those who want a bit more direction for what to wear, ladies can consider mid/long dresses and gentlemen can consider suits/button downs and dress pants. Our color scheme is dark jewel tones, but feel free to wear whatever colors you'd like.
For guests who plan on driving to the venue, there is plenty of parking. For guests who want to enjoy some libations (or just not deal with driving), we have hired a shuttle service to pick up our guests and get them home safely throughout the evening. From what we've heard, there might not be many Uber/Lyft options in Lakeside, so please don't rely on rideshares for getting around!
Due to the limited space of our venue, and so that all our guests (including parents) can enjoy an evening of fun and relaxation, we have chosen for our wedding day to be an adult-only occasion. While we love all of the little ones in our lives, we appreciate your understanding and respect for this decision. We hope this advance notice means you are able to share our big day with us, and will enjoy having the evening off!
Our venue is located in a heavily forested area in Montana, and is during peak fire season. The venue understandably has a very strict no-smoking or vaping policy, and we would face a significant fine if any of our guests were found smoking on the property (there are cameras, so we will see you doing it). We would greatly appreciate if all our guests could respect this policy and our wishes, so please plan accordingly! If you get us fined or burn down this beautiful Montana forest, Dana will personally hunt you down and do unspeakable things to you.
