Our love story begins how every good 21st century love story starts...on the interwebs :) We'd both tried other dating apps and each got a recommendation to give Hinge a try. Neither one of us were super optimistic about what we would find after finding quite a few weirdos out there :) But, as God (not fate) would have it, we were each only on the app about a week or 2 before talking and we hit it off from the start! Here's how it went from each of our perspectives... Jonathan's story: "I saw her profile on Hinge and thought 'She's so cool, hot, and travels a lot. It's a long shot but let's go for it!' We started talking then Bam! She's going on vacation to Kentucky and gonna get some rough and rowdy cowboy :( And to my surprise she came back still thinking of me. I knew I'd make her mine and never let her go from that moment on!!" Mollie's story: "Several guys had messaged me the same day but he stood out...cute and sarcastic from the start! We talked for about 4 days before he asked to meet up but problem was, I was about to go on vacation! So we kept talking while I was gone and I told everyone about him and we met up when I got back! After a 6-hour first date 5 days after I returned from vacation, the rest was history!"
By God's grace, most of our planning has not been affected by COVID-19, however the shutdown of parks, restaurants, and basically the world in March 2020 did attempt to thwart several plans Jonathan had made for an epic proposal. Then, in April, Mollie got some type of crazy 5-week long (non-COVID) sickness that seemed like it would never go away. So, with the ring burning a hole in his pocket, and the two of them wanting to start their 'forever' as soon as possible, Jonathan asked Mollie if he could come visit her on a seemingly random Thursday evening while Mollie was still feeling under the weather. Little did she know that that date, May 14, 2020, would become one of the most important dates of their lives. As he always does at her place, Jonathan started emptying out his pockets with wallet, keys, and phone onto the table and then gave Mollie a hug, starting to talk about how he'd love her in sickness and in health. (In Mollie's head, she's thinking 'Well, obviously'). When they pulled apart from the hug, it all made sense as he dropped to a knee and asked her to marry him. The sweet, sentimental part was that, because she was still sick, they couldn't even kiss at the proposal. It somehow made it all the more special knowing that, even though the situation wasn't ideal with sickness, Jonathan still wanted to spend the rest of his life with her no matter what.
