Andres, born and raised outside Chicago, decided to mosey on down to Texas to find the loves of his life. He found he enjoyed the vast landscape, the weather and its people. At one point,Jollen and Andres were working at the same place. They had never had a conversation, but were Facebook friends. Andres quit his job and moved to Austin. He was there four years. Jollen, an El Paso girl por vida, was involved in the local Roller Derby scene. One day, some of the skaters brought in a pamphlet about a new women lead Rugby team. Jollen joined the rugby team with coaches, Susan and Arilene at the helm. One warm Memorial Day weekend, Arilene and Susan had a cookout at their home. Jollen walked in and saw a familiar face manning the grill. Andres was Arilene’s brother, unbeknownst to Jollen. As they say, the rest is history. Such started a long distance relationship between Jollen and Andres. Driving and flying as much as they could between Austin and El Paso. Racking up frequent flyer miles, & racking up miles on Andys’s truck. Eventually the goodbyes became too hard, and in January of 2024 Andres made the move he never thought he would, and came back to El Paso so they could start their lives together.
