They met at Royalwood Church, and followed each other on instagram… Joey then reached out to Jolie. A modern day love story. After that everything fell into place. Their first date was at the zoo October 8, 2022. And They got engaged May 18, 2024 at a park in the woodlands. Jolie’s pov: I had seen Joey around at Royalwood Church for a while. He was the talk of the town everyone knew who he was and would not stop talking about him. I eventually looked him up on instagram (everyone made me so curious about this new man attending Royalwood) and followed him. To my surprise he followed me back, and a few days later he slid up on one of my stories. What a modern day love story... am I right? From there we started messaging! Our first date was at the zoo. We went through it so fast, we were just so nervous. Joey took me on the paddle boats at Herman park, it was very fun! We ended up at a bench that day and talked for hours... I knew after our long conversation that Joey was someone I wanted in my life. When I was a little girl my dad always told me to pray over my future husband. Which I did... very specifically. I remember praying he would be tall, play the guitar, and have green eyes. As I got older I started praying a little less on specific physical attributes and more on emotional/ spiritual ones, but always remembered what I used to pray. You should know Joey is tall 6'2 (Check), plays the guitar (Check), and has hazel eyes (Not check?). On our third date we were playing We're Not Really Strangers and the card said for Joey to close his eyes and ask me what color his eyes were. I replied Hazel or brown and to my surprise he said Wrong! They are green! and would not open his eyes until I agreed. The prayer I used to pray when I was a young girl flashed into my mind... green eyes (Check!). In that moment I knew God was telling me "Jolie, this is your future husband!” I can’t wait to experience life with Joey! Through every hill and valley, with God at the center! ♡ Joey’s pov: The start of 2022 was the time I returned to my childhood Church. What I didn’t realize was that even though Christ was cleaning me up, He had placed me in the very spot I would meet my future wife. I first noticed Jolie on a Sunday morning when she wore this bright yellow dress. I kept looking in her direction hoping she would look back, but I think her attention was more on Jesus than me…. What a good Christian girl, right? What I loved about Jolie was her worship.. At that moment I knew I was going to reach out and talk to her. After sliding up on a story of hers, we started talking. After a few weeks of going back and forth, we decided to meet at the Zoo on Oct. 8th for our first date. Jolie was a bright, funny, and beautiful woman. Something about her made me feel at home and comfortable. After the first date, I wanted to spend everyday together. I could be having the worst day at work, or with anything else and as soon as i am with her, all of it goes away. Fast forward 2 years and now we are planning a wedding, and building a house for our family. It’s truly a God thing when things happen in such a perfect way. There are no coincidences, only Christ working through our lives. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with Jolie and our future Children. Thank you Jesus! We are blessed beyond what we could ever imagine! Keeping God at the center of our relationship and pursuing His will for us. We hope y'all enjoyed reading our story, and can not wait to see y'all on our wedding day! - Joey & Jolie ♡
