The Mall of America is something to see! Make sure you wear your walking shoes...Also be sure to check out Nickelodeon Universe. Justin painted many of the rides there, including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the Bubble Guppies rides!
Can you believe falls like this exist right in the middle of a major metro area? Minnehaha Falls Regional Park has miles of hiking trails, but the falls are a short walk from the parking area, so no hiking required. For the more adventurous, you can go down the stairs to the bottom of the falls and, after taking pictures, follow the trail about a mile down to find yourself right on the bank of the Mississippi River!
There is a lot to see near downtown Minneapolis! One of our favorite places is the Stone Arch Bridge. The bridge itself is a National Civil Engineering Landmark. It operates as a Lock and Dam, and there are daily tours. Aside from that, it is beautiful and offers a great view of downtown Minneapolis. From the bridge, you can walk to the Mill City Museum, where you will see the ruins of the 1878 Flour Mill explosion. You can then walk to the Guthrie Theater, which is open to visitors and offers expansive views and some really interesting architecture and interior design. It is a great place for selfies, and we have taken many there!
If you are looking for a unique dining experience, you MUST check out Owamni by the Sioux Chef. They prioritize purchasing from Indigenous food producers, and their menu has eliminated colonial ingredients such as wheat flour, cane sugar, and dairy. It is amazing (and popular), so dinner reservations are a necessity.
This is a great Italian restaurant in South Minneapolis. The limoncello is a MUST! Reservations recommended
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Minneapolis! It is a vegetable-forward but meat-friendly tapas restaurant with a fantastic patio for outdoor dining. The cocktails are fantastic as well. The patio is first-come first-served. Reservations recommended, but you can usually get a table outside if you arrive near opening (5pm).
