Just a weeks into dating in August of 2019, we attended Outside Lands Music Festival for the first time together. It was one of our first days of spending an entire day together, and the perfect day confirmed what our early dates had hinted at - time spent together just felt "right". Since then we’ve cherished so much time together in Golden Gate Park. The idea of a wedding in the park seemed just right, we wanted to be married in a spot we'd return to often. To do so during the festival is the cherry on top. Our love for this beautiful park and the vibrant city of San Francisco runs deep, and we feel that Outside Lands perfectly celebrates both.

In July 2024, we went on a trip to Tahoe for the 4th of July weekend. It was a particularly hot week, so Jason suggested a short sunset walk to avoid the worst of the heat. We made the 20 min trek up to the top of Eagle Rock—a prominent cliff viewpoint overlooking Lake Tahoe. The spot holds special memories for us - we visited it on our first trip to Tahoe together, and we also took both of our parents here the first time we all went on vacation as a group. Johanna was caught off guard; she hadn’t anticipated a proposal during this "spontaneous" walk during the hour of perfect photo lighting. Sneaky Jason. So, when Jason got down on one knee, her surprise was genuine. It was the easiest "yes" she had ever said.
