The little sister Nicole prayed for until she was 10 years old. Destiny's birth still marks one of the best days in Nicole's life, being born almost on Nicole's 10th birthday. "Although we are complete opposites in many ways, we understand each other so well and have had an incredible sister bond throughout our entire lives. My baby sister is so precious to me. She is the person I can be an absolute goofball in front of, dance like no one is watching and laugh hysterically with over anything. She is smart, beautiful and one of the most ambitious people I know. I'm so excited to continue cheering her on from the sidelines as she follows her dreams. I cannot wait to see where life takes our friendship and sisterly bond."

Best Man
Paul’s brother, Tom has been one of his closest friends his whole life. The two played hockey and golf together when they were kids and worked together on the golf course at Grosse Ile and later at Bel-Air CC. They have always supported and motivated each other. Tom is now a golf course superintendent in AZ and we hope to be closer to him sometime in the near future! "Tom is a great brother and golfer, but has never had a hole in one. Hopefully we can enjoy the time in life where Tom's golf game gets better and maybe good enough to get a hole in one."

Nicole and Samantha became friends in high school. They eventually moved in together years after high school and helped each other through some of the toughest times physically, financially and emotionally in life. "Slammy is that friend that has ALWAYS been there for me without question. It hasn't mattered what day, time of night, or season of life I have needed her; she has been there, every time. We connect in the fact that we have such huge hearts and wear them on our sleeves. Sometimes the greatest friends are made during the hardest times of life, and that is exactly who Sammy is to me. Her loyalty to our friendship has inspired me so much over the years, and I only hope to be as good of a friend to her and others as she has been to me."

Paul and Joe played high school golf together and went on to win several dollars playing in college golf outings together, with Tom and Jeff too. Like most other cool people, Joe went to MSU and was always part of the fun. "Joe and I have shared a lot of good memories together - including vacations, golf outings and Halloween parties at Evan's apartment. He's been a great golf partner and even better friend. Many great memories and looking forward to many more."

Britney is a very precious friend to both Nicole and Paul. Her and her husband, Bobby, were our first neighbors in Pennsylvania. Britney had just given birth to her twins a few weeks before we moved across the street, and they still made it a point to welcome us to the neighborhood with open arms. Nicole and Britney attend bible study together. "Britney has been such a special person in my life. We have so much in common, from our love of God, adventuring, good food, and so much more. She has openly welcomed us into her church family, her bible study and real family events. She has been my cheerleader as I have grown so much in my relationship with God and for that, I will be forever thankful. Sometimes friends like Brit come into your life and it feels as if you've known them for years"

Adam and his wife, Whitney, are also very special friends of Paul and Nicole's. Paul's hire by the USGA was made possible by Adam's promotion within the company. Since then, they have become great friends and spend a lot of time together at work and on/off the golf course. "Adam has been a true friend and awesome golf partner since we got to PA. Adam is also pretty rad on a snowboard and one of our favorite vacations was to Mount Snow in Vermont with Adam and Whitney. Despite some pretty hard falls, we had a blast and managed to make it out with no broken bones. "
Teresa Parodi

Teresa is also a member of the nursing crew. Nicole refers to Teresa as the crazy Cuban of the group! "Her energy and laugh are contagious. Teresa is a bright light in a dark room. She has the ability to make anyone and everyone laugh. I love Teresa and her family with all of my heart. Although she is always cracking light-hearted jokes, she takes our friendship very seriously and would go to war for her friends. When you are considered a friend to Teresa, she accepts you in as family. She is a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. She has been part of the glue that has held our nursing friendships together and I often wonder how I got so lucky as to have found such an amazing friendship in her."

Paul and Travis (aka T or Trav) became friends in high school in yearbook class. Yeah, yearbook class - go ahead and laugh. The best part of yearbook class was that Travis and Paul got to spend alot of time "interviewing students" (AKA not attending yearbook class) but those books still managed to win several awards! "Although Travis is probably one of my only friends that doesn't golf or work in the turf industry, he learned alot about it living with Tom, Jeff and me. He was a heck of a roommate and put up with alot. Many nights we would come home late and T would be sleeping and we would start jammin some horrible rap music. I'm sure he wanted to strangle us, but we all survived and had a blast doing it."
Sadaf Hensley

Sadaf is the final piece to the nursing crew. "I love Sadaf because she was not afraid to challenge me. The first time I knew she was a true friend was when she forced me to talk about my feelings. I was having a hard time making close friends at the time and Sadaf recognized my struggles and refused to give up on me. She has helped me create a stable foundation for many friendships in my life and has reassured me that real friends love you at both your best and your worst self. She is such a beautiful person inside and out. In nursing school, we spent many car rides in the trunk of an SUV together snacking on french fries or taking goofy pictures in our scrubs. We still share a unique bond, especially both being ER nurses now, and I am forever SO grateful for our friendship."

Evan and Paul went to high school and college together and then worked nearby each other in Los Angeles. He is always the life of the party, but always respectful. "Evan's outgoing personality and optimism make him someone you always want to be around. Especially when he's having a bad day on the golf course but wants to put a $20 on the match. We spent a lot of time together in LA and kept each other sane amidst a city full of Prius's and $7 coffees."

Leanne is Paul's little sister and means a lot to both Paul and Nicole. Fun fact; they actually took their first vacation together to watch Leanne perform in her state-level competition for cheerleading in high school! "I instantly loved Leanne when Paul introduced us years ago. Even after Paul and I split up when we were younger, Leanne and I kept in touch over the years. Leanne is such a kind-hearted person. Her brothers have always been so important to her and they both love her dearly. I have always admired the brother-sister bond they share and I'm so excited and honored to gain another sister (and of course another brother)! I only hope that our future sister bond grows closer than ever before."
Jeff Campbell

Paul and Jeff met on orientation day at Michigan State University. They had no idea they grew up just a few miles from each other, but after meeting that day have been friends ever since, including being roommates in college for a few years. "Jeff has been a great friend and we were lucky enough to survive college together to be able to share some pretty cool memories, including graduating. I know it's hard to believe, but we did it! Jeff is super talented in his profession, can jam on the guitar and is one hell of a cook. His nickname is Hopslam (a limited release Bells IPA) because he always knows the best beer on tap."

Brooke gets the gold star for Nicole's longest friendship to date. Brooke and Nicole met in middle school and became instant best friends. "We had the 'read each others mind' kind of friendship. We used to go to school, write notes to each other all day long, skip lunch to talk in the bathroom, go to cheer practice, and when it was late and we had to leave each other, we'd often stay up on the phone talking for hours. There was a time in our life that we could complete each others sentences. Brookey is SO special to me, we have seen many seasons in life and I will forever be thankful that we remain fighting for our friendship. I remember many years ago, the day we were on the swings across the street from her grandmas' house, talking about our future weddings, and here we are!"

Christopher (AKA Pher) is Nicole's youngest brother. Although Nicole's brothers did not grow up near her, their Dad did all he could to keep them close to each other. Nicole's fondest memories of Christopher are riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers when they were young. Pher has the need for speed and has been riding anything with an engine from the time he could barely walk. Paul instantly liked Christopher when he first met him. "Pher reminds me of a younger version of myself. He is always the quiet, observant one in the room. Although I haven't got to spend a lot of time with Pher and Randall, it was easy to tell that they have a heart of gold and truly love their family. I can't wait to spend more time with both Randall and Pher and create some life long memories!"

Randall is Nicole's brother. Randall has always been such a sweet guy. Paul met Randall at a few family gatherings and spent a lot more time with him during their family vacation to Panama City Beach last year. "Randall is much like Pher in the fact that he loves his family and enjoys spending time with them. When Nicole and I got engaged in Florida I remember Randall telling us that it was the best vacation he had ever been on. We had a great time together and I was glad we could all be there to share such a special moment together. I can't wait to spend more time with Randall and gain another brother!"

Phyllis is Nicole's Mom. "My mom has taught me many things, but I owe my empathetic, happy, and loving nature all to her. She taught me to see the best in everything, true strength comes from those who travel every hard road themselves, and that it is ALWAYS okay to cry. She is super adventurous, smiles in the face of fear, finds God in nature each day, and has the most contagious laugh. As a young girl, I watched my mom go through challenges that many people won't see in an entire lifetime. Through all of these challenges, she ALWAYS fulfilled her role as a mother first and I'm forever grateful. I am excited to see where life takes our relationship and I am most excited to watch her become a grandma in the future, something she has dreamed about for a very long time."

Lisa is Paul's mom and is also an awesome cook and teacher. "She should probably be considered for sainthood after raising us, three kids. Growing up, both parents loved us kids dearly but Mom was the parent that always pushed us academically and I am forever thankful for that. She sacrificed a lot of her time to raise us kids and we are all very thankful for that. She is loving, thoughtful and supportive and I cannot thank her enough for all that she has done to help me become the man I am today. Sometimes it takes her a while to understand a good joke so if you see her laughing randomly, she is probably just realizing the punch line from a joke she heard 10 minutes ago."

Father of the Bride
Brad is Nicole's dad. They have lived a state away from each other throughout her entire life. Although there was distance between them, Brad took his role as a father VERY seriously and cherished his relationship with his daughter to the fullest. "My Dad is the absolute role model of my life. He is the type of man you never question sincerity, honesty or love from. He has taught me many things, but I owe my strengths of integrity, independent nature, hard work, stability and loyalty all to him. He ALWAYS pushed me to follow my dreams and provide a stable future and life for myself. He is extremely smart, a little rough around the edges with a heart of absolute gold and I love him so much for that. Everyone knows my Dad would do anything for his kids and I hope to be like this one day."

Father of the Groom
We are very sad to say that Paul's Dad passed away in December but we find peace knowing he will be looking over us on our special day. Although at times it is still hard to accept that he won't be with us in person on our special day, his passing has certainly served as a reminder that tomorrow is never promised and to live and love like today is your last day. "Dad was the other half of what I look back on as a great pair of parents. Dad taught us discipline, hard work and to be respectful. He worked long and hard hours while we were young to support us and provide us with opportunities in life. Some of my fondest memories growing up were hunting and playing golf with Dad, Papa and Thomas. We had fun doing both, but Dad's golf skills never quite caught up to his hunting skills."

Ring Bearer and Flower Girl
Ian and Ella are the twins of our wonderful friends Bobby and Britney! "It is such a joy being their neighbors and watching them grow up into such adorable little souls. It's amazing to see life through their eyes and we are so honored to share our special day with them! When we first asked them to be our "flower girl" and "ring bearer", they were in their "NO" toddler phase. Therefore, after being rejected many times, we are so grateful they have decided to reconsider after learning what being a 'flower girl' and 'ring bearer' means! Playtime with Ian and Ella only makes us more excited for a future family together. We will be SO lucky if we have future children half as cute, kind, caring and well-behaved as little Ian and Ella!"
Mackenzie Jean Jacobs
Star of the Show
Mackenzie Jean is our beautiful new daughter. She is such a smiley, happy baby with so much light and life. She's a little fireball just like her momma and is very observant like her daddy. The day she was born our family and lives have changed forever in the most special way. We're so excited to now be able to have her as a part of our special day and to hold onto these memories with her forever.
