After talking on a dating app for the past week, we finally decided to meet in person. We decided to go to Chili's (I had yet to figure out this was her favorite restaurant with an especially difficult salad order) for drinks and appetizers. We each had a drink and shared fried pickles. I walked to the bathroom...but went the wrong way. She laughed. It sealed the deal.
It was our first trip apart and we had only been together for a short period of time. About to get on a plane and take a cruise with David and Taylor (Christopher’s cousin), Christopher thought it was the perfect time to say “I love you” for the first time. It was truly magical reading those words….through text…as he shut his phone off for take-off. …Emma nearly killed me when I saw her again…
After going to get breakfast at C&G's (were Emma has worked for almost a decade) we took a drive down Route 37 and headed down to the Island Heights Pavilion. We parked the car, got out, and started walking up the stairs to the second deck. As we looked out over the water she started crying and asking "Why are we here?" (this was her break up spot, after all). I dropped to a knee to ask her to marry me. She ugly cried and screamed bloody murder.
