Our story begins at the age of six when we both sat next to each other in 1st grade. Little did we know this was the start of forever, thank god for seating in alphabetical order. In 5th grade we found ourselves sitting together again, only to learn we both liked each other... and apple pie too. Being 10 years old, and still afraid of catching cooties, we didn't talk much until 8th grade computer class. We were forced to share a computer regularly due to John making car collages more often than focusing on the actual assignments. This is when our friendship began to grow to the point where we became best friends. Over the next 2 years we spent a lot of time together, from endless Mario Kart races, Twilight movie marathons, and messaging each other on Facebook all night long, we ended up falling for each other. Both at 15 years old, on January 20, 2010 John asked Candice to be his girlfriend.
Our nightlong Facebook messages often included Bowling For Soup, our favorite band. The band helped bring us together, and after 7 years of dating each other, in January of 2017 Bowling For Soup announced that they were having a concert in NYC. John knew there would be no better time to pop the question. April 7th, 2017 came quick and we had the time of our lives seeing the greatest band ever in concert, but little did Candice know the night was just getting started. Candice had no idea what was in store for her. John suggested we stop for a bite to eat before we head back to Penn Station, and he knew a good shortcut through Madison Square Park to get to a diner. Halfway through the park John had forgotten to show Candice his BFS shirt that he got, he told her to pull it out of his backpack and check it out. Candice rested the backpack on one of the park benches and reached in to grab the shirt. While she pulled the shirt out she gasped and realized the shirt said "Will You Marry Me?" she looked back at John and he was already down on one knee. We all know what happened after that.......She said "yes" before he could even make his speech.
