Things To Do

We’re thrilled to share some of our favorite spots in New York with you! There’s always something new to see and try, so feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need recommendations!

Neighborhood Walks

Greenwich Village is known for its great restaurants, comedy & jazz clubs, charming architecture, and cultural significance. We love people-watching in Washington Square Park and exploring the surrounding streets. The High Line, an elevated walkway on a former railroad track, offers a peaceful escape from the street with greenery and architectural views. The Financial District & Brooklyn Bridge, our first neighborhood in New York, offers a great walk from Battery Park to Wall Street, past Trinity Church, then on to the Brooklyn Bridge. If you're up for it, walk across the bridge to DUMBO then ferry back to Manhattan. The West Side Promenade is our favorite bike path along the Hudson River with parks, piers, and views. Highlights include Little Island and the Intrepid aircraft carrier. Chinatown feels like a world of its own, with delicious dumpling shops and bakeries. We love walking from Mott/Mulberry streets northward to Little Italy, stopping for pork buns at Mei Lai Wah.

Eats

Joe’s Shanghai- Chinatown. Authentic family style Chinese Harry’s Steakhouse- Financial District. Old-school Wall St. steakhouse Bubby’s- Tribeca. Great for brunch Roberta’s Pizza- Bushwick. Favorite Neapolitan pizza in our neighborhood Hanoi House- St. Mark’s Place. The Groom’s favorite restaurant in the city serving huge bowls of Pho

Views

Top of the Rock - Our personal favorite! Panoramic views of Midtown Manhattan & Cental Park from the top of Rockefeller Center. Fully outdoors so dress appropriately One World Observatory - atop the Freedom Tower/One World Trade Center at the southern tip of Manhattan with the highest viewpoint in the city. The incredibly moving 9/11 Memorial & museum is located at the base Edge at Hudson Yards - huge outdoor deck that hangs over the street 100 floors up.

Museums

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) - legendary building with the biggest and most diverse collection in the city. The roof also has a great view of Central Park Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) - -great for contemporary art lovers, with works by Picasso, Van Gogh, Warhol, etc. The Tenement Museum- a fully immersive tour showing industrial-era life inside an actual historic tenement building in the Lower East Side Museum of the Moving Image- fun museum for movie lovers with our favorite exhibit (The Muppets!) Also gives you a chance to try some food in Astoria, Queens.

Fun

Smalls Jazz Club- tiny jazz bar located in a West Village basement. Fills up quickly but always has great performers Comedy Cellar- there’s lots of comedy clubs in NYC but this is the best. Pretty much every comedy legend has performed here. Not for the faint of heart. Katz’s Deli- giant pastrami sandwiches and old school charm will make you say “I’ll have what she’s having.” Central Park- although you’ll be there for the ceremony, we encourage finding extra time to enjoy the fall foliage and explore the beauty of our favorite place in NYC
