Jonny and Emily met on their first day on campus at the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire in August of 2016. They became quick friends bonding over their mutual interests in music and the Minnesota Vikings. After developing a close friendship for a couple of months, they went on a date without telling any of their friends and family. Since then, Jonny and Emily have continued to be best friends and have had the privilege of growing up together. Jonny and Emily love spending time with their cat Bernie, playing games, going on hikes, exploring new breweries, and spending time with their friends and family. Jonny and Emily both play in a community band together and also participate in trivia weekly at a local brewery in Minneapolis.

Through mosquitoes, rain, and mud, Jonny and Emily arrived at Middle Falls in Grand Portage State Park. At the top of a rushing waterfall, Emily said "yes" on July 24th, 2022, ushering in an exciting (and long-awaited) new chapter of their lives.
