We completely understand that some guests may feel uneasy given recent news about security issues in parts of Mexico. Your safety and peace of mind are very important to us. Cabo, located in Baja California Sur at the southern tip of the peninsula, remains a safe and popular destination for travelers. Its unique geography — surrounded by ocean with essentially one main highway entry point that is heavily secure— makes the area easier to monitor and secure. For context the mainland part of Mexico(where occurrences are happening) are 20-24 hours driving distance away. There have been no reports of cartel-related issues involving tourists in Cabo and safety rating is currently 94 with no travel advisories by the US embassy. We are keeping a close eye on the situation, and if anything changes, you will absolutely be the first to know. As of now, Cabo continues to be a safe place to visit, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you there!
We do ask that you stay on property and book within the group code, for your convenience and to make the most of the wedding experience. Staying at the host resort means you’ll be right in the middle of all the festivities — with plenty of time to relax, celebrate, and connect with everyone. Guests staying on-site will enjoy special perks like easy access to all wedding events, discounted golf and spa services, and complimentary shuttles to nearby sister properties. Guests staying off property unfortunately do not have access to pre wedding activities such as the welcome party and other scheduled events.
We’re kicking things off with a welcome party on Wednesday, October 21st in the afternoon, so try to arrive before 5PM to join the fun! Most of the Johnson and Thompson families will be arriving on October 18th, so the celebrations will be in full swing by the time you get here.

You can RSVP in one of two ways — simply book your room at the resort (which automatically counts as your RSVP), or fill out the RSVP form in the RSVP section of our wedding website. RSVPs are due no later than May 1st, 2026 - No exceptions.
The group rate is from October 16th- October 29th. Anyone that wants to book before or after those dates will need to create two reservations with the same room type. One under the group code and one separate and then the hotel will link them.

Beach Semi- Formal: Think classybreezy, and beach-ready, — dresses, polos, cute shorts, and yes, even flip-flops are welcome! It’ll be around 85°F, and our sandy ceremony will be short and sweet, lasting about 15 minutes. Bring your shades and your smiles!
