Their First Outing

August 2012

Their first outing together was to see the hypnotist at ASU. Molly thought it was a cheesy, fun thing to do. She definitely did not believe in hypnotism. Imagine her shock when Colin conked out completely! The hypnotist then asked for anyone who was hypnotized to join him on stage. And off Colin went! Molly gave up trying and just enjoyed the show. The hypnotist had Colin perform the Safety Dance, and finished the show with Colin giving birth to a beautiful baby girl, who he named Reggie! Molly knew then that she had found someone truly special.

Their First Real Date

September 2012

For their first actual date, Colin wore a red tie and a grey button-down, and Molly wore a black dress with birds on it. They went to Proper, a small local restaurant in Boone, and talked and ate for hours. When they finally finished their dinner, they didnt want to say goodnight, so they stayed up watching movies and playing card games.

The Proposal

September 2018

A lot happened between their first date and the proposal, and that is just how it was supposed to be. They grew together, lived together, and learned each other’s ways over the years. When Colin said he wanted to go to Italy for their sixth anniversary, Molly had no idea that it was really an engagement trip! They traveled from Charlotte to Shannon, Ireland, then to Rome, Naples, Pisa, and Malta. Their anniversary, September 12, was spent in Naples, and Colin planned the perfect day! They woke up and headed to the marina, where a photographer was waiting to take photos of them. They toured the castle by the sea, which was completely empty except for them! They spent the day exploring Naples, riding the funicular to the top of the city, and eating lunch cliffside by yet another castle. For dinner, they went to Mimi’s, a 200 year old restaurant famous for its classic Neapolitan food. They had five incredible courses of pasta and seafood, and then dessert was brought out. Colin took Molly’s hand, and said, “Everything we have been through has brought us here. It has been a long time in the making. Molly, will you marry me?” He brought a ring out of his pocket, and it was the perfect ring for her. It was a beautiful rose gold band with diamonds and a teardrop opal. Molly couldn’t believe it! It was the most perfect day in existence (so far!).
