We met on the IU cross country and track team back in 2015 but didn’t think much about it. Flash forward two years- I was visiting my friend Amanda for a long weekend after graduating from nursing school and I was finally able to meet her boyfriend (now fiancé!) Ryan. He had LOTS of questions and before I knew it, I was on a double date with Ryan's brother Bryce! That one date led to a second, then a third, and many more! We still love to go on dates checking out local bakeries and cafes, trying the diverse ethnic restaurants, and hiking on the nature trails at Griffy Lake!
Our east coast summer vacation began with a trip up to Niagara Falls. Accompanied by Bryce’s parents, our first stop was at the Butterfly Conservatory in Canada. The conservatory was in full bloom with gorgeous plants and flowers covering every inch. Butterflies of every color flittered through the air and often landed on mesmerized guests. A quick trip down the path led to the emergence room where a large window displayed dozens of chrysalis and newly hatched butterflies. Before I knew it we were front and center of the opening window and Bryce was down on one knee! Of course I said YES! Suddenly, two more surprises popped their heads around the corner, my parents! It was so special to be able to share this moment with both of our parents! A memory we will never forget! All six of us spent the rest of the day near the falls celebrating our engagement. We capped the night off with dinner overlooking Horseshoe Falls followed by a boat tour and fireworks! It was a magical weekend!
